This careers fair is for manufacturing employers to showcase their companies and meet students from the engineering faculty at Leeds City College, UTC Leeds and The Gorse Academy. It provides an opportunity to highlight the wide range of roles and career opportunities available in manufacturing today.
The event will include break-out sessions on CVs, interview preparation and work readiness and concludes with careers panels for students and teaching staff.

Every student who attends UTC Leeds undertakes a mock interview with employer partners. It is one of the college's favourite days on the calendar, giving students experience real life interview situations, the opportunity to practise showcasing their skills and impressing guest interviewers.
UTC Leeds invites you to attend this year’s annual interview day on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 as one of our interviewers. The event is open to employers and will be held in person. Interviews will be approximately 15 minutes per student. All materials will be provided as are the interview questions and orientation for the interview process included as part of the day.

Next Gen Makers, a sponsor of the 2023 Leeds Manufacturing Festival, is inviting you to join this introductory webinar looking at how employers can ensure apprenticeship training programmes are best in class and can help win them recognition an employer of choice.
The webinar is aimed at decision makers in engineering and manufacturing companies involved with the festival and offers an insight into best practice drawn from manufacturing and engineering firms across the UK. All companies attending the webinar will be able to benchmark their apprenticeship programme free of charge via the Next Gen Makers online benchmarking questionnaire. This will enable you to understand what best practice looks like and how your apprenticeship programme currently compares.

MPM Ltd, manufacturer of glass-reinforced plastics for the utilities, automotive and leisure sectors, hosts this workplace visit for Year 9 students from Roundhay School. The visit begins with an overview of the company, manufacturing processes, products and the sectors MPM supplies to, followed by a factory tour and a Q&A session with members of the MPM team talking about their roles within the company. The visit has been organised as a follow up to the STEM Sector Careers Showcase which took place at Roundhay School last September, which was supported by manufacturing employers from across Leeds.

Keynote speakers for the event are West Yorkshire Mayor Tracey Brabin and Stephen Phipson, chief executive of manufacturing employer's organisation MAKE UK. They will be joined by a panel of manufacturing employers and industry experts including Ben Wilson, managing director of MPM Ltd, Amanda McLaren, managing director of AW Hainsworth, Mitch Scott, head of Leeds City College's school of engineering, and Matt Booth, associate director at E3 Recruitment

Join members of the Leeds Manufacturing Alliance on our exhibition stand at Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair (LARF 2022).
One of the biggest of its kind in the North of England, this event is part of National Apprenticeship Week and will offer employers the chance to meet and talk to young people about apprenticeships and opportunities for anyone starting out on a career in manufacturing.
