Employers from some of the city’s biggest companies, including Direct Line, first direct, the NHS, Leeds City Council, Network Rail and Sky, were joined by members of the Leeds Manufacturing Alliance, exhibiting for the first time this year at the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair.

The apprenticeship fair at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, which took place during National Apprenticeship Week, is the biggest event of its kind in the North, attracting thousands of young people, parents and carers.

It provides an unrivalled opportunity for young people to meet and talk to employers, many of them recruiting to live vacancies, and learn more about the career opportunities that apprenticeships can offer.

Daletech Electronics, Sound Leisure, Pland Stainless, Brandon Medical, MPM, Northern Flags and Ecco Safety Group were amongst the manufacturing firms represented at the recruitment fair, along with Agfa Graphics and Leeds Welding Company.

Tracey Dawson, managing director of Daletech, said: “There was a great buzz around the event. It was a great way to showcase the wide range of careers in manufacturing and raise the profile of some of the great manufacturing companies we have here in Leeds.”
