Leeds Manufacturing Festival launches award programme

Andrew Wright, AW Hainwsorth

As part of this year’s Leeds Manufacturing Festival, we are introducing an awards ceremony to recognise the achievements of the sector’s ‘next generation’ of manufacturing leaders and rising stars. Do you have an apprentice who has excelled at learning and has made a big impact in the workplace or an employee who joined your business in an entry-level role but has progressed to a more senior position, supervisory or leadership role?

We want to hear about them and will be celebrating their successes in a series of profiles, to be published on the LMF website and at an awards ceremony to be hosted by jukebox manufacturer Sound Leisure at the company’s factory showroom (Sandleas Way, Crossgates, Leeds LS15 8AR).

To nominate a member of your team in one of the three categories, please complete the nomination form and return it no later than Monday 21/3/22 to Tracey Dawson, chair of Leeds Manufacturing Alliance: tracey.dawson@daletech.co.uk

The award categories are:

  • ‘Next Gen’ apprentice of the year: this can be for a young person who has just joined the company as an apprentice or for an existing member of staff who has signed up for an apprenticeship to develop their career.
  • ‘Next Gen’ manufacturing leader: for a young member of staff who has won the trust and confidence of their colleagues is making a difference as a team leader or in a supervisory / managerial role.
  • ‘Next Gen’ rising star: for a young member of your team who has made an outstanding contribution to the business.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 31/3/22 (6pm – 8pm), with attendance by invitation only for award winners, sponsors, participants and supporters of the 2022 Leeds Manufacturing Festival.
